Before Booking Your Color Appointment

Color History Matters

  1. Please disclose all previous color history, even if it was years ago.
  2. This includes: Box dye, Professional salon color, Bleach/lightener, Henna or direct dyes, Keratin treatments, perms, relaxers, chemical straightening.
  3. Previous color history directly affects future results.

Going Lighter

  1. Hair dye cannot lighten previously dyed hair.
  2. If hair has previous permanent color, going lighter may require a separate lightening service.
  3. Dark hair dye can make future blonding or lightening more difficult.
  4. When lightening hair, underlying pigment is exposed in stages: Red, Red-orange, Orange, Yellow-orange, Yellow, Pale yellow.
  5. Going lighter with hair color will lead to warm results like golden browns, golden blondes, reds, coppers and caramel tones.
  6. For people wanting no warmth while going lighter, bleach is most likely necessary.
